Westermo’s robust networking solutions showcased at SPS IPC Drives in Italy

Westermo’s latest industrial data communications products for critical infrastructure applications have been showcased at the SPS IPC Drives Italia exhibition in Parma. The focus of the three-day industrial automation fair was new technologies in smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0. The event brought together many leading suppliers and producers of automation technology from around the world, including Westermo’s long-term Italian distribution partner Piero Bersanini.

Piero Bersanini is among Italy’s foremost companies in the field of electronics and electrical components, and visitors to its booth were given demonstrations of Westermo’s portfolio of resilient networking products that support smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 strategies. With the increasing convergence of IT and automation, it is critical to create reliable and secure data communication networks that bridge these two areas.

All the products on display, including industrial switches, Ethernet extenders and routers, are powered by Westermo’s own network operating system, WeOS, which has recently been enhanced with a range of new features. In conjunction with Westermo’s network configuration management software, WeConfig, this enables customers to configure reliable and secure networks very rapidly, helping them achieve a faster return on their investments.

Westermo’s CEO Jenny Sjödahl and area sales manager Nuri Shakeer joined a 16-strong team from Piero Bersanini at the booth to provide expert advice to visitors on implementing innovative data communications technology in tough environments.
